Atlanta has many beautiful Parks for families, walkers, and runners to enjoy. A few of those include, the historic Inman Park, which is Atlanta's first planned community and one of the nation's first garden suburbs. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Place. Another amazing Park in Atlanta is Piedmont Park. It has been Atlanta's common ground since 1904, and is located 2 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. In 2006, the Atlanta City Council approved a revised master plan for Piedmont Park, and the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The park grew much larger, with hundreds of Trees planted and tons of renovations that were recently completed. Also, located at Piedmont Park is an Aquatic Center, which opened in 2009. One of the more famous parks in Atlanta is the Centennial Olympic Park. This park was home to the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. Today it is a unique 21-acre park that serves as Georgia's legacy of the Olympic Games and is enjoyed by everyone in its community.
